Nollywood actor Jigan Baba Oja has broken his silence and strongly responded to claims made by controversial online personality Verydarkman, who accused him of being part of a secret WhatsApp group allegedly created to derail justice for the late singer, Mohbad.
The drama started when Verydarkman called out actress Iyabo Ojo, claiming she was the leader of a covert WhatsApp group allegedly formed to manipulate and obstruct public efforts aimed at uncovering the truth behind Mohbad’s tragic death. He also alleged that several Nigerian celebrities, including Jigan Baba Oja, were active participants in the said group.
As the controversy gained momentum and public criticism began mounting, Jigan decided to address the issue via a TikTok live session. During the live broadcast, he made it clear that he would not succumb to pressure or intimidation from Verydarkman or anyone demanding proof of his innocence.
He said, “If you like, listen to my explanation, so fine. Do I even owe you an explanation? No! As long as my conscience is so pure; that’s what matters.” His words conveyed a sense of defiance and personal conviction, suggesting that he owes accountability only to his conscience and not to public speculation or social media commentators.
Not stopping there, Jigan later took to his Instagram page to share a cryptic yet confrontational message, appearing to take direct shots at Verydarkman’s credibility and consistency. In the post, he questioned the lack of evidence presented despite loud accusations and implied that a hidden agenda might be at play.
“So fast Nigerians ain’t asking for the evidences no more! Something you paid 20m to achieve and you can’t post it no longer! Are we still in the slavery era? Na leg dey pain me not my brain! We shall see to the end of this! Thank you Allah, Olujo Mimo! 🙏.”

This statement further intensified reactions on social media, with fans and critics debating whether Jigan’s response was an honest rebuttal or a clever deflection.
Meanwhile, the video of Jigan’s live session continues to trend online, with many viewers either supporting his firm stance or questioning the credibility of all parties involved in the growing Mohbad justice movement.
