Kemi Adetiba Opens Up About Fibroid Battle

Ace Nigerian filmmaker Kemi Adetiba has once again shed light on her ongoing health struggle with fibroids, revealing through an emotional social media exchange that she may need to undergo a third surgery to manage the condition that has plagued her for years.

Adetiba first made her battle with fibroids public in 2015. At the time, she described her condition as “severe,” disclosing that it once led to an emergency room visit and drastically impacted her personal and professional life. Her courage in sharing her experience opened the door for conversations about women’s reproductive health in the Nigerian entertainment industry and beyond.

This latest update came in response to a deeply moving Instagram post by fellow actress Ini Dima-Okojie, who recently shared her own journey with fibroids in a candid video. In her caption, Ini called for more awareness around fibroid-related issues and emphasized the urgent need for a permanent medical solution.

“We NEED a cure for fibroids. In the meantime, I hope every woman dealing with it is hanging in there. Just know that you are not alone,” Ini wrote, striking a chord with countless women who silently battle the condition.

In a response that resonated with many women, Adetiba took to the comment section and candidly wrote, “I’ve had surgery twice for this already, and it now seems I might need a third. Sigh.” Her words not only revealed the physical toll of living with fibroids but also the emotional and mental fatigue that comes with repeated medical procedures.
