A lady has come forward with a detailed account of how her friend was disqualified from participating in the tenth edition of Big Brother Naija, themed ‘10 over 10’.
Recall that the tenth edition of Big Brother Naija premiered with a double launch on July 26, 2025, and July 27, 2025, unveiling 29 housemates to the public.
According to the lady, identified as Tamar Canada Roberts on Facebook, her friend successfully made it to the BBNaija Lockdown stage, but was unexpectedly disqualified in the early hours of the show’s launch day—around 4 a.m.
Sharing what transpired, Tamar explained that the issue began when someone allegedly opened a social media account in her friend’s name. She received a call from his cousin, who was acting as the new handler, and they discussed the situation. She advised they quietly report the account in hopes it was just a parody, warning that multiple similar accounts tend to emerge once a housemate enters the house.
“Someone opened an account in his name, his cousin (new handler) calls me to find a way forward, I say let’s not spook this person, let’s quietly report the account, hopefully it’s a parody account the person wants to use to gain traffic and a lot of those accounts will come when he gets into the house,” she stated.
Tamar further revealed that her friend was originally meant to be among the male housemates introduced during the launch. However, he was dropped from the show due to a breach of confidentiality rules.
According to her, the disqualification resulted from a social media post made prior to the official premiere, which hinted at his entry into the BBNaija house—a direct violation of the show’s strict pre-launch guidelines.
“25th of February his cousin (new handler) texts me to say the person has posted on their page that he is going into the house which is a violation,” she added in her post.
