Controversial social media figure and activist, VeryDarkMan, has stirred major controversy after releasing what he claims is concrete evidence implicating popular Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh, in a campaign to influence the pursuit of justice in the ongoing investigation into the death of Nigerian artist, Mohbad.
The outspoken activist, who has taken an active role in uncovering alleged foul play surrounding Mohbad’s untimely death, disclosed that he had obtained and verified a series of leaked WhatsApp group messages dated October 13, 2023. These messages allegedly link Tonto Dikeh directly to behind-the-scenes operations involving the Department of State Services (DSS).
According to the messages, Tonto Dikeh was a participant in a group chat reportedly created to organize and strategize efforts aimed at ensuring justice for Mohbad. However, what raised eyebrows was Tonto’s expression of strong dissatisfaction over reports that key suspects Naira Marley and Sam Larry might be granted bail.
In the leaked conversation, Tonto Dikeh went a step further, allegedly calling for increased pressure, including public bullying and online harassment, against the two music figures. She also claimed in the chat that she was physically present with DSS officials who were investigating the case at the time of her message.
This development has sparked a heated debate online, with many questioning the legality and ethics of her alleged involvement with state security operatives while also engaging in what some are calling “vigilante activism.” Critics argue that advocating for bullying, even in the name of justice, crosses a line that could influence legal processes unfairly.
Adding to the unfolding drama, VeryDarkMan also resurfaced earlier accusations he made against other high-profile figures in the entertainment industry. He had previously claimed that certain celebrities, including actress Iyabo Ojo and a public relations manager associated with Davido, had formed a separate WhatsApp group aimed at planning his arrest due to his investigative activities.
