Trump May Consider Pardon for Diddy

US president, Donald Trump is reportedly considering presidential pardon for Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, the renowned American rapper, embroiled in a high-profile federal case.

Recall that Diddy Combs was convicted on two counts related to transportation to engage in prostitution and faces up to 14 years in prison.

Additionally, he was acquitted of more serious charges which include racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, following a months-long legal battle that garnered nationwide attention.

According to President Trump, he would “certainly look at the facts” of the case and seriously consider issuing a pardon if there is evidence that Combs was unfairly treated or subjected to bias during the proceedings.

He emphasized that any decision regarding a presidential pardon would not be influenced by personal ties, celebrity status, or public opinion, but strictly based on justice and fairness.

“This has to be about due process and equal treatment under the law,” Trump reportedly stated, clarifying that he does not play favorites when it comes to matters of legal accountability.

Diddy” Combs’ sentencing hearing is scheduled to take place on October 3, 2025, at a federal courthouse in New York, where final arguments and victim statements may also be presented.

Meanwhile, his legal team has filed a motion for release on bail, proposing a $50 million bond package backed by property and guarantors. However, the offer has been met with strong opposition from federal prosecutors, who argue that the defendant poses a significant flight risk due to his international assets and private jet access.

As the sentencing date draws near, public interest in the case continues to rise, with legal analysts and political commentators speculating on the possible outcomes, including whether President Trump will ultimately intervene with executive clemency.
