The WAEC result of Monday Okpabelo, the governor of Edo State, has stirred significant discussion on social media, especially following his recent political statements against Labour Party’s Peter Obi.
Earlier reports revealed that Governor Okpabelo publicly cautioned Peter Obi after the latter’s high-profile visit to Benin City, where he generously donated ₦15 million to support community development initiatives.

Amid the fallout from his remarks, internet users began circulating a snapshot of his 2008 WAEC results, which reportedly shows underwhelming academic performance. His best result was a C5 in Mathematics, while he scored D7 in Commerce, Economics, and Christian Religious Knowledge (CRK). Alarmingly, he earned an E8 in English Language.
These academic records have reignited public scrutiny, particularly about his communication gaffes during speeches and interviews.
Social media users have not held back:
Gifty remarked, “E don cast. No wonder he couldn’t pronounce billions and promised to import insecurity in Edo state 🙄 😅🤣😂😁”.
Emmanuel Nweke stated, “No wonder he couldn’t pronounce figures”.
Nkem Dike asserted, “No wonder he told Edo people that he would give them insecurity 🤣”.
Samsy Kenny added, “No wonder.. so this man dey cram wetin them write for him, and when e reach to deliver the speech, he go miss the lines. Lol. Na waooooo..lol. Oga just use his hand buy market for Alaba international”.
