Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface has reaffirmed his commitment to the Bundesliga champions, making it clear that he intends to stay with the club despite recent transfer interest and media speculation about his future.

In a recent interview with Sport Bild, the Nigerian striker dismissed any rumours linking him with a move away from the BayArena, expressing full confidence in his decision to remain part of the Leverkusen squad under newly appointed manager Erik ten Hag.

“Absolutely,” Boniface responded when asked directly if he planned to continue with the team. “My future is here. From my perspective, it’s 100 percent clear that I’m staying.”

Boniface, who has three years left on his current contract, emphasized his desire to win more trophies and build on the club’s success. “I still have three years left on my contract. I want to win titles with Bayer and have a great season.”

The 23-year-old joined Bayer Leverkusen in 2023 and has quickly become a key figure in the squad. Heading into his third season, he reflected on past interest from Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr during the January transfer window, confirming that the move never materialized.

“The transfer didn’t work out. It is what it is. I’m here,” Boniface stated firmly.

He also highlighted his strong on-field relationship and off-pitch friendship with fellow forward Patrik Schick. Recalling their memorable performance in the 4-3 victory over Stuttgart last season, he said, “We played together and had one of the best games of the season. Patrik is a very good friend. We push each other every day.”

While the club has seen the departure of key players such as Jeremie Frimpong, Jonathan Tah, Florian Wirtz, and former head coach Xabi Alonso, Boniface remains confident in the team’s direction under Ten Hag’s leadership.

“Of course, I miss my friends,” Boniface admitted. “But we’ve got some good players and a great coach who’s had a lot of success at Ajax and Manchester United. There’s always movement in football, that’s normal.”

After scoring 14 league goals during Leverkusen’s title-winning campaign, Boniface is expected to play a central role once again as the team transitions into a new chapter under Ten Hag’s management. His commitment signals a promising start to the club’s upcoming season.
