A Nigerian landlord has taken to social media to narrate how he ended up marrying his kind-hearted female tenant after enduring repeated incidents where his wife locked him out of their home for coming back late at night.
The man, identified as @tort_walec, shared the personal story via a post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), sparking conversations across the platform.
According to him, the incident that changed everything happened in 2017. On that particular night, his wife once again refused him entry into their home. However, instead of sleeping outside, his compassionate female tenant welcomed him in, showing him kindness and empathy when he needed it the most.
“In 2017, my wife locked me outside, but our beautiful, kind-hearted female tenant opened her door for me. In short, she’s not a tenant anymore. We now have three children,” he revealed in the tweet.
He further explained that this was not a one-time occurrence. In fact, he said his wife had locked him out more than 20 times over the years, and it ultimately influenced his decision to walk away from the marriage and start a new life with someone who valued him.
“That was the over 20th time,” he added, suggesting it had become a pattern in his former marriage.
