A Nigerian man has tragically lost his life after he was electrocuted while allegedly attempting to steal transformer cables in Benin, the capital city of Edo State.
According to reports circulating online, the shocking incident was captured in a video posted on popular social media platform TikTok, where it quickly gained traction.
In the footage, the lifeless body of the individual can be seen lying within the transformer cage, indicating that he had been fatally electrocuted during the act of tampering with the high-voltage equipment.
Eyewitness accounts suggest that the man allegedly jumped into the restricted area of the transformer enclosure with the intent to cut and steal some of the valuable electrical cables.
Unfortunately, he made contact with a live wire and was instantly electrocuted, dying on the spot before any form of rescue or help could reach him.
The graphic video has since gone viral online, with many netizens reacting to the grim scene. A flood of comments emerged, expressing disbelief, caution, and sympathy, while others criticized the risk taken for financial gain.
