A mother has gone viral after publicly accusing a pastor of being behind her child’s inability to speak or function since birth, claiming he took the child’s placenta during childbirth. The emotional allegation was aired during a radio interview and later shared in a video on TikTok by user @tboss8167.
In the video, the distressed woman narrated her ordeal, explaining how her difficult pregnancy led her to seek spiritual help at a church run by a woman known as “Iya Michael.” According to her, she was frequently ill until the church provided her with a white cloth and soap to bathe with, which miraculously cured her within two days.
She eventually gave birth at a mission house connected to the church, but suspicions began to grow when her baby’s clothes were withheld and kept on the church altar. The woman assisting with the delivery claimed this was because the birth had been officially registered with her.
More troubling was the pastor’s insistence on keeping the baby’s placenta. The woman revealed that although the placenta was initially handed over to her husband to dispose of as per custom, the pastor stopped him and demanded it be buried within the church compound, a practice reportedly done with all deliveries at the church.
Since then, the woman says, her child has been unable to talk or carry out normal physical activities. She believes strongly that the pastor’s intervention—especially the handling of the placenta—has caused this condition. The video sparked massive outrage online, with many Nigerians taking to the comment section to express disbelief and support for the woman’s claims.

Esther Ogundeji: “Pls woman, don’t joke with this issue. I am a matron, I have a clinic in Lagos and Ogun State. Many of them used to come to my clinic saying they want to buy placenta. Alfa, woli — when you ask what for, they say ‘kapa aye’. I tell them, is kapa aye more powerful than a baby with placenta? Abiyamos, open your eyes well.”
Oloori Titilola Eweje: “Autism is the problem… It happened to my cousin. They neglected hospital and focused on church… He’s now 46 plus… Madam, take him to hospital.”
Boluwatife: “Both Iya Adura and your husband deserve prison. If not for foolishness, why will he drop his own son’s placenta there? Ha God.”
Boluwatife: “In the first place your husband na mumu ni?? Also from one church to another for 7 years now 😭. Anyway, God will see the baby through. Hospital is the best place to know if the baby has Autism. Thank God Iya Adura is still alive. Assuming she had died, there would be no way to verify.”
