A Nigerian lady who set out to learn the Korean language just to express her love for popular Korean actor Lee Min Ho has ended up being hired by the Korean government in Nigeria.
This incredible and inspiring journey was brought to light on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) by user @Nekie_neka. In her post, she detailed how what started as a simple desire to connect with her celebrity crush evolved into a successful career in language, education, and international relations.
She revealed that her original goal was modest—she just wanted to be able to speak a few lines to Lee Min Ho, saying something like: “Hello, I love your dramas, can I call you oppa, and can I take a picture?”
However, that admiration soon turned into dedication. As she immersed herself in learning the Korean language, her skills improved rapidly. She didn’t stop at the basics. Her passion led her to compete in and eventually win a Korean language speaking contest.
From there, doors began to open. She became a Korean language teacher, a content creator, and later an interpreter and influencer, all of which contributed to her landing an official position working with the Korean government in Nigeria.
Sharing her thoughts, she said: “I currently earn a living because I have a crush on a Korean actor. I wanted to be able to tell him something sweet in Korean, so I started learning the language.”
“I ended up winning a speaking contest, becoming a teacher, content creator, interpreter, and now work with the Korean government in Nigeria.”
She also expressed her continued affection for Lee Min Ho, stating: “Absolutely! It’s the delectably handsome Lee Min Ho. He acted like he was owing rent for 7 years in City Hunter and made me fall completely in love with him. Unfortunately, I haven’t met him yet.”
Her story resonated with many, sparking admiration and curiosity online. Social media users quickly flooded the comments section with praise, questions, and their own experiences with learning foreign languages or following their passions.
