This academic feat places Kimberly among a very exclusive group, as she is reportedly only the second known Nigerian to receive a first-class degree in Robotics Engineering—a discipline known for its complexity and innovation-driven focus.

David Umahi and daughter.

The first Nigerian to achieve this distinction was Silas Adekunle, a trailblazer in robotics and tech entrepreneurship. He is widely recognized as the inventor of MekaMon, the world’s first intelligent gaming robot, and graduated with First Class Honours in Robotics from the University of the West of England, Bristol.

Kimberly’s achievement is a testament to the growing global presence of Nigerians in advanced tech fields, and it brings added pride to her family and the nation at large.

Senator Umahi and his wife, Rachel Umahi, were present at the graduation ceremony in London to celebrate their daughter’s academic excellence and personal dedication.

This remarkable milestone has been met with widespread congratulations and is seen as a shining example of academic distinction and female representation in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
